Leadership Training Events

Train-the-trainer classes are listed by resource. For more information on a class, including locations, please click on the date. Classes are being held in Columbus, Inner City Atlanta, North Fulton/Gwinnett County, Dekalb/Rockdale County, Thomasville and Macon.

Classes are $55/person (unless otherwise noted) and include all certification materials and meals. In addition, each trainer will receive all student curriculum free.

1. 10 Great Dates to Energize Your Marriage - This resource includes a fun-filled approach to helping couples build thriving marriages by inviting couples to go on 10 exclusive dates!

2. 10 Rites of Passage- This highly acclaimed resource teaches at-risk youth to focus on long-term life goals that include abstinence, parenthood and marriage education.

Training Dates:

May 14 - 15, 2010 and May 21-22, 2010 in Lithonia

*Certification for this training is $110.00. To get full certification, participants MUST attend both parts of the training.

3. Active Money and Living- This resource includes two of Kelly Simpson's award winning programs - Active Money and Active Living. Active Money looks at the differences in how couples view money. Active Living teaches couples how to think outside the box and create a fun-filled marriage.

4. Basic Training for Couples - A Black Marriage Education Curriculum - This resource helps black couples strengthen their marriage. It is also suitable for dating, engaged and cohabiting couples.

5. Couple Communication- This program, taught by Sherrod and Phyllis Miller, will help trainers increase their knowledge of skills to help couples increase intimacy, make mutually satisfying decisions, reduce tensions and manage differences as they create good times together.

6. How to Avoid Falling for a Jerk(ette) - This program is designed to help young people and singles make healthy dating decisions.

7. Prepare/Enrich is a program based on a set of five inventories that examine major relationship issues a couple may experience. These inventories include 4-6 feedback sessions in which the counselor facilitates discussion between the couple based on their inventory results.

8. Smart Steps for Stepfamilies - This program focuses on building family strengths in stepfamilies. Families will learn skills in communication, co-parenting, managing conflict and adjusting to change.

9. Survival Skills for a Healthy Family - This program focuses on building family strengths in stepfamilies. Families will learn skills in communication, co-parenting, managing conflict and adjusting to change.
